The clinic recently opened a Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Surgery Centre, which features the Da Vinci S robot, one of the world’s leading technological advancements. This is one of only two such centres in Switzerland, and is all part of the clinic’s multi-disciplinary approach. This equipment is notably used by the clinic’s specialists for the treatment of prostate cancer (urology), as well as gynaecological and gastroenterology conditions.

In 2003 the clinic opened one of the largest private radiology institutes in and around Geneva. The radiology department is fully equipped with up to the minute diagnostic technology, including the latest magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner, ultrasound and other equipment to examine the central nervous (brain and spinal cord), digestive, urinary and osteo-articular systems. The department also boasts one of the fastest spiral scanners and an IRM 1.5 Tesla with a power gradient system, which enables the use of Echo-planar technology.

The eight radiologists in charge of the institute specialise mammography and the imaging of blood vessels, the central nervous system and the digestive, urinary and osteo-articular systems.
Apart from the standard techniques of echography and mammography, the specialists also uses MRI breast scans, limited excision biopsies, fine-needle aspirates or simple location mapping using stereotactic radiological equipment.

The Institute of Nuclear Medicine was founded at Générale-Beaulieu Clinic in the winter of 2003-2004. It is the most important private centre for nuclear medicine in the Canton of Geneva, (The first Swiss recipient of the newest PET/CT medical imaging technology. This technology is to date the best method for the early diagnosis of cancer.)
Générale-Beaulieu Clinic’s Maternity Unit was opened on 18th October 1995. The clinic’s maternity unit has the latest equipment, such as paediatric intensive care tables, incubators, apnoea mattresses, pulse oximeters, surveillance cameras, phototherapy lamps and ECGs for new-borns. The clinic’s specialised neonatal care staff constantly visit new mothers. After birth, midwives provide new mothers with advice on all feeding techniques. In November 2005, the maternity unit was completely renovated, and since then patients have had the option of VIP suites, junior suites, and new private rooms that offer an amazing view onto the clinic’s green and tranquil courtyard.

The institute is also equipped to monitor premature labour from the 34th week of pregnancy, as well as twins, and also enables the patient to stroll around safely during labour.

In addition to the comprehensive range of surgery and general medicine, the hospital has six specialized centres, each with its own doctors and care teams: Institute of Radiology, Institute of Nu-clear Medicine, the Robotassisted Laparoscopic Surgery Centre, the Assisted Reproductive Technologies Centre, the Maternity Unit and the Physiotherapy & Functional Rehabilitation Centre, including a specialized unit for Sports Medicine.
The Assisted Reproductive Technologies Centre. The centre was set up with the help of three gynaecologists specialising in reproductive medicine, a urologist and a biologist, in strong partnership with Unilabs laboratories, a Swiss company and European leader in medical analysis. The multidisciplinary centre is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment in line with all recent discoveries in fertilisation. Together with the centre’s warm, hospitable atmosphere, this provides the most effective results in IVF treatment.

The clinic’s Ophthalmology Centre is unique in Geneva, equipped as it is with the latest instruments. The latest achievements in this field allow the clinic’s medical team to perform a range of different eye surgeries with great accuracy and more quickly than it was possible before.

The clinic has Reanimation Department, which continually monitors patients during and after high-risk surgery guaranteeing all patients safety during any type of surgery. The department’s specially trained team is on duty 24 hours a day.

The Department of Physiotherapy uses methods of rehabilitation such as oxygen laser treatment, electrotherapy, massage, curative gymnastics, motor training and cardio-respiratory physiotherapy. The team of physiotherapists trained at the best European schools and offer several series of rehabilitation exercises in a 35-degree swimming pool.

Geneva’s only cellular pathology laboratory allows doctors to perform urgent biopsies during surgery, which guarantees high reliability of intraoperative diagnosis. Operational 24 hours a day, the laboratory performs different types of medical analysis: haematological, chemical, clinical, and microbiological. Auto-transfusion and blood transfusions are among the complex surgical services offered by the clinic.

Accommodation: Each patient area is equipped with a TV, telephone, internet access, en-suite bathroom and toiled, complimentary dressing gown slippers and set of towels. Each client is offered the support of a dietician and is given a choice of two meals each day based on the dietician’s recommendations after close consideration of the patient’s condition. Should patients prefer, they are welcome to dine in the restaurant on the top floor. The clinic itself is located in a prestigious area just outside the centre of Geneva.
